Twelve years ago today, on a Friday, a beautiful 7 lb 1 oz dark, fuzzy headed little girl was born. She was our second sweet little girl and though it was a little scary when she was first born, the Lord looked down and made her perfect!
After things settled down and we got in our room I was looking at every inch of this sweet baby girl. I started noticing that she had what the doctors called a “storks pinch” right above her lip and a strawberry patch between her eyes (which she still has when she gets upset, sick or hot). It was special because we soon found out that Nathan’s Mamaw, whom we love dearly, also had the same strawberry between her eyes. There was a spot on the back of her head that I thought was a bald spot, but when I got to looking, she had a little patch of white/blond hair. She still has that spot of hair and I love it because it’s just simply Briley!
I remember when I was expecting her I wondered if she would look like her sister? If their personalities would be similar? If I would be able to love her as much as I loved her sister? But she came into this world with her own look and her own personality. She couldn’t be more different than her sister but we love her every bit as much as we do her sister!!
At a young age we could tell she liked sports. As she’s gotten older her love for sports has grown and grown. Most days if it’s pretty outside you’ll find her playing basketball or softball with her sisters & best friend.
She loves animals and her best friends. She loves math, playing games, Auburn football (which make me so happy), and music!!
Last year she decided to give her life to the Lord....your dad and I couldn’t be more proud of you!!
I can’t wait to spend the day celebrating you and all the joy you have brought into our lives!!
Your dad, sisters, and I love you more than you’ll ever know. I am so thankful God allowed me to be your mom! You have the biggest heart and I love that about you. You can do anything you set your mind to (except as you let me know one day, lick your elbow or bite your ear, lol). I am so proud of your drive to make good grades in school, even in science, a subject we all know you hate, your love for the Lord, your help keeping me straight, lol, your willingness to welcome new people into your group, and all you do to help me around the house!
Always stay sweet in your soul. Always try your best. Always push yourself to achieve your dreams. Always be true to yourself and love yourself because you are beautiful!!! And most importantly, always always Love the Lord and remember if you put him first in your life you will always have everything you need!
I love you,
